Licensing
Scherer Engineering makes selected Engineering Assets available for defined commercial use. The product page describes the technical basis; usage rights, technical deliverables and license fees become binding only through the respective license agreement.
License Model V1
1. Engineering Reference License
For project planning, internal technical evaluation, quotation preparation and use of an asset as an engineering reference. No independent right to manufacture is included unless expressly agreed.
2. Single Manufacturing License
For manufacturing a defined asset for a specifically identified project or a contractually defined quantity. Where agreed, manufacturing may be carried out by the licensee or by a designated manufacturing partner. Any further series production, disclosure or sublicensing is excluded unless expressly agreed.
3. Commercial Manufacturing License
For recurring commercial manufacturing within a contractually defined scope. Quantity, term, territory, approved manufacturing partners, modification rights and commercial exploitation are defined on a project-specific basis.
4. Individual Licensing Agreement
For OEM, series-production, platform or special arrangements, as well as cases involving extended modification, disclosure, exclusivity or sublicensing rights. The scope of rights is agreed individually.
Engineering & Further Development
Project-specific modifications, recalculations, interface planning, detailed design, validation or commissioning support are not automatically included in a license. They are defined as separate engineering services.
Technical Deliverables
The specific deliverables depend on the asset, license level and documented data set. Depending on the agreement, they may include:
- technical overview and assembly drawings
- PDF documentation and data sheets
- neutral CAD/STEP files
- DXF/DWG files, where available and agreed
- bills of materials and manufacturing documentation
- interface and process data
- native design data only where expressly agreed
Commercial Basis
The assets presented in the shop are not sold at a standard online fixed price. The license fee is determined on an asset- and project-specific basis according to the documented asset value, scope of rights, commercial use and the actual data package to be delivered. The internal platform license for the Scherer Engineering Technology Platform is not automatically used as the external price for an individual asset.
